First try Friday's, Bark House.
Where to start, honestly this is going to be a struggle for me write (inside voice).
How the f*ck can I describe their first gig? Obviously with my pictures... No seriously though these 4 baba's are doing something really really rite, who plays their first gig without me ever knowing any of them played instruments?! All I do is speak to people about music, local music, vintage music ALL MUSIC and somehow I only found out about Bark House 1 week before this gig.
So first tune, there was no nerves I can tell you that for definite, I was completely indulged by early Pearl Jam feels from 4 young pups you know!? You just know don't you when you hear the first tune its a 'Well these are shit' OR in my case last night 'What the f$ck??'
I'm no music journalist, so I won't sit here and chat shit about how they write or what tones sounded the best or whatever them fools talk about in NME magazine. What I will speak up on is how much these guys where smiling, it was as if they'd just been for a walk through the Playboy mansion...on laundry day! You feel me? If I shoot your band or come to watch you I expect to see sweat and smiles!
Damn these little slickers honestly 200% the whole set and the encore andddd the Pearl Jam cover again bless them.
Last photograph, the moment they came off stage I needed to capture that group love and happiness. So there you go!
There was nothing better then photographing to good jams I mean come on its straight inspiring isn't it?!
I know I'm asking a lot of questions today don't worry I'm just trying to make sure you're all with me and for what I'm trying to push into your worlds!
Back to it,
Seeing the youth from my own 'shitty, dirty, doley scum waste land' as it may be viewed blowing a stage up in a packed out pub on a piss wet Friday night inspires me over and over BUT it says more than just here is a local band blah blah, THE SCENE IS ALIVE!
Great imagination will create great outcomes for anyone involved or supporting the ideas, what I'm saying here is there are a few great people in this town who want to see people shine! I'm all for that especially when its part of the music scene in my home town.
Bark House are a fine example, 'Don't Fight It Feel It' is the SEED for their step into the gig world and as I said earlier on by George they've got some serious flavour.
Everyone reading this, PLEASE support your locals! I don't care if its 'not your type of music' its free... FREE MUSIC IS FREE LOVE!
